Discord Integration

Get instant notifications in Discord when users submit feedback through your Saylo widget.

Setup

Step 1: Create a Discord webhook

  1. Open Discord and navigate to your server
  2. Right-click on the channel where you want notifications
  3. Select Edit Channel
  4. Go to the Integrations tab
  5. Click Create Webhook
  6. Give it a name (e.g., "Saylo Notifications")
  7. Copy the webhook URL

Step 2: Configure in Saylo

  1. Go to your Saylo dashboard
  2. Navigate to Settings → Integrations
  3. Find the Discord card and click Connect
  4. Paste your webhook URL
  5. Click Connect to save

Step 3: Test the integration

  1. Submit a test feedback through your Saylo widget
  2. Check your Discord channel for the notification
  3. Verify the message format and content

Configuration options

Role mentions (optional)

To mention specific roles when notifications are sent:

  1. Enable Developer Mode in Discord (User Settings → Advanced)
  2. Right-click on the role you want to mention
  3. Click Copy Role ID
  4. Add the role ID in your Saylo Discord settings

Multiple channels

Create separate webhooks for different channels:

  • #feedback for user feedback
  • #urgent for high-priority issues
  • #general for all notifications

Troubleshooting

Not receiving notifications?

  • Verify the webhook URL is correct and complete
  • Check that the Discord channel still exists
  • Ensure the webhook has permission to send messages
  • Try creating a new webhook if the old one stops working

Role mentions not working?

  • Double-check the role ID is correct
  • Ensure the role still exists in your Discord server
  • Verify the webhook has permission to mention roles

Too many notifications?

  • Use Discord's notification settings to mute specific channels
  • Create separate channels for different notification types
  • Consider using Discord's "Do Not Disturb" mode

Security

  • Your webhook URL is encrypted and stored securely
  • Only Saylo can use it to send messages to your Discord channel
  • The integration only sends notifications - it cannot read messages
